After having explained the origins of my brand and the strategic marketing principles adopted when promoting my brand I can say that overviewing all this information as a project has helped me better understand it. We have especially delved into the advantages and disadvantages of both “Social Media” and Content Marketing”. Having a clear understanding of these principles will help exponentially improve the marketing of a product or service that I will be offering to my target audiences in the future. Today I stand with my brand “The Sith Crafter” with great sales growth due to the selection of social media mediums I use and the content marketing I use to entice my potential customers. This is the reason behind why I have chosen these two topics and why I have gone into so much depth on each one. Not only do they highly interest me but I have quite some experience using them and involving them in my day to day marketing for my products and services. Writing this blog has helped me better see a very brief outline of these principles and wish that my readers reading this blog can find it helpful and serve as a guidance to becoming potential entrepreneurs. It’s great to have a skill set in Media platforms and how to promote one’s products/ services. As I personally believe that it’s all about the way you market your products which proves its success. When taking my Intermediate in Marketing during my sixth form days, I learnt the following which I feel have stayed attached to me ever since.

  1. The customer is everything. Without him/her your business does not exist!
  2. The customer is always right! Be humble and kind with your customer and most of all keep them happy even if it leads to a minor financial loss.
  3. Target the right audience. Not everyone is interested in your product/ service.
  4. Do necessary research on your competitors and market before putting a drop of sweat and investing into a potential idea. SWOT analysis is vital!
  5. You can have the best product or service in the world. But if not marketed right, its worthless…
A fantastic illustration defining the core principles of marketing

These are a couple of points which have stuck with me and during the digital literacy lectures hear them being mentioned. As creatives we sometimes need to think like business entrepreneurs in order to compete with competitors and gain a competitive advantage. Thus, I feel this blog is worth a read and will help any creatives puzzled on how he/ she is to tackle “Social Media” selection and the “Content Marketing” of his/her products. Thank you for reading my blogs! :-)
